Sentence building / Lesson 22
Mark an object
물을 · 커피를
Read & notice
을/를 marks an object in many basic sentences. Use 을 after a final consonant and 를 after a vowel: 물을, 커피를. 저는 물을 마셔요 means I drink water. The object is what the action concerns here.
Particles may be omitted in conversation, but keep them while learning this pattern. Do not insert 을/를 after every noun: a noun’s role in the sentence matters.
